LOS ANGELES, CA – USC has kicked off its Asian and Pacific Islander Month Celebrations a few weeks early, with a new campaign promoting youth in Asia. Though Asian and Pacific Islander Month does not officially begin until May, the University has decided to kick off the celebration in late March. “Celebrating youth in Asia is an excellent way to commence AAPI month and promote on campus safety,” said USC President Carol Folt during her 2023 State of the University Address. The festivities are slated to begin at Founders Park, with the mass euthanization of USC squirrels to mark the beginning of the celebration.
